TOM WARRENDER
www.classroommedics.co.uk

Tom Warrender, founder of Class Room Medics, aims to inspire young people and adults to think about their health, careers and life ambitions. He does this by showing them how to use a wide range of medical and science equipment that shows them how their body works. Sounds crazy? Just you wait.

Get Set Schools' workshops create realistic scenarios to demonstrate to school pupils the physical effects of drug abuse and physical assault. Children carrying out experiments on a realistic mannequin known as Stan get to watch the different ways the human body reacts. Stan is one of Get Set School's educational props used in workshops aligned to the National Curriculum.

Accompanying Stan is Andy, a lifelike arm traditionally used by medical students in higher education to practise taking blood. Children use Andy to learn more about the inner working of their bodies and how blood is circulated.

The firm's marketing is currently centred on conferences, exhibitions, post and email, targeting teachers. However, Tom recognises that there are thousands of new teachers qualifying every year that have grown up with social media, and also wants to develop techniques to reach the students that take part in the workshops.

"The use of social media for pleasure and work often mix and provide an ideal opportunity to target a 'new breed' of modern teacher that use social media every day," he says. "These techniques may even be developed to help pupils with their studies, as opposed to promoting our workshops which again would be another way into schools if they show their teachers our work."
