Throughout the next six months our specialist mentors will be setting a series of tasks for our Boot Camp Cadets based around PR, social media and marketing.
Task One: PR
Our first task is around PR. Paula Gardner, author and founder of DoYourOwnPR.com, is a specialist in small business PR and provides expert coaching to entrepreneurs.
In our first Boot Camp mentoring session she took each Cadet in turn, set out the problems they face and offered her suggestions on the best way to move forward to raise their profiles. Each cadet was tasked with building up their press contact lists with a view to sending out tips and advice based article releases.
She emphasised the importance of mutually beneficial joint ventures with larger organisations who have PR aims that can be aligned with the cadets' own.
